Monster Jam

Has anyone ever been to a Monster Truck show? Monster Jam was being conducted at the Colonial Center here in Columbia, SC so I thought I'd go. (Don't mistake my casualness of the subject to be anything short of zealously ecstatic joyification).

It was great! I took pictures...until my camera died (stupid rechargeable batteries).

The only action pic I got before it died was that of Grave Digger doing a wheelie...and then....still doing a wheelie.....and holllllld it..........ok, so it sat on its *** and that tractor thing in the pic had to tip it back over.

I went to one in San Diego, years ago, Gravedigger cleared the cars and hit so hard Dennis Anderson was knocked out with the throttle wide open he slammed into the wall. We had seats that were 3 rows back and 4 seats in from where they were parked. It was before digital cameras, I have probably 100 pics from it . We owned a Ford Escort Wagon at the time and I was begging the wife to allow me to drive it over something. She wouldn't let me. Definitely had a blast.

I took my oldest son to one of those about 5 years ago and we did the whole pit pass thing and got every drivers autograph and digger T-shirts. That was a great time, I've been meaning to go back to one, they have them here in STL every year, but seems like something always comes up.

I grew up in Yakima where the Jeep monster truck Hot Stuff is from. The guy was great friends and neighbors with my uncle. Loved when he'd be out there working on it. Those things are awesome.

oh yea, went to one a couple weeks ago...my jeep club was the crew pretty much, and i helped some, even got to help bigfoot put his tires on friday morning after getting there...thats are some massice tires to put on those massive axles..lol

i got some air with the front of my jeep the second night on the second hill..got the front about 4 feet high ...that was awesome, the crowd cheered like crazy with that

then we all drove our jeeps into the arena and over the little hills they had and parked in there for intermission and the crowd cheered for their favorite jeep..

heres some of my pics from that

That tractor thing looks like a Gehl. Kind of like a Gradall, only cheaper, and not as cool.

Thanks for sharing your pictures
