It sucks the being a contractor. Get paid $16/hour, I have to save roughly 15% for uncle sam. It's just disappointing to watch that savings account get bigger and bigger and bigger and just sit there....

No you need a house there is no more child care credit according to my tax guy, plus it will cost you 280,000 to raise a child to 18 in todays world not counting collage. A house will net you most of the intress payments back. Plus kids grow up and want to drive your jeep.

To anwser your question....you are right that your hourly server minimum wage + average tips per hour over a period of time MUST be equal or greater than your states standard minimum hourly wage.

Employers will try and screw you on this, please do not let them, while everyone is going to blame Obama for **** like this, it has more to do with shady companies taking advantage of employees. If it continues call a lawyer.

Yeah...I know other smaller coffee shops (like where I went to school) who pay more....I think it comes down to owners just trying to see what they can get away with.

I think we got it straightened out this time. If I have too much trouble with it....well hopefully I get a career type job soon & won't have to worry about this one.

There was never a bush Jr in office. There was HW Bush and W Bush, no Jr.

All I know is when Bush was in I was making great money and had great health insurance through my wifes job at the hospital, now the pay isn't as great and people on welfare have better health care than we do.
