(Note: I definitely don't want this to be a Hummer bashing thread, cool?)
But... "Looks like a Hummer."
Is what many folks have said about my new Rescue Green Unlimited Sahara.
That seems so curious that they would say that. To me it looks likea regular ol' Army Jeep that has been stretched out for an extra set of doors.
Also, the Jeep has been around since the late 1930's right? And the Hmmvee (Model M1026a) was introduced in the mid-late 1980's as a direct replacement to the Jeep.
I'm just like "whatever" when people say it looks like a Hummer.
Not to mention, I have spent MANY windshield hours in a HMMVEE while in the Army (1st inf div). Let me be clear that the H2 and H3 are NOT HMMVEE's. The H3 has more in common with my wifes GMC Acadia than my cool ol' Jeep.
The Army HMMVEE's are sooo friggin kick@ss it's hard to believe the things they are capable. I have incriminating evidence on film that show just how high a HMMVEE can jump
Others have had similar remarks made to them. Wouldn't worry about at all.
I don't have anything against Hummers either if that is what makes you happy but out of curiosity I hit one of the many Hummer forums just to read a little jeep bashing and it seems that they are definitely into the bling thing much more than jeepers are (which is not totally unexpected). Alot of talk about big wheels and low profile tires and chrome, lots of chrome.

Has anyone else said your Unlimited JK looks like a Hummer too?
Picking up my Jeep (Redrock, 4dr, soft top down) from the service department of the areas largest Jeep dealer and the "gopher boy" pulls my Jeep around, hops out and says "Hey, it looks like a mini-Hummer...have a nice day!"
I have had a lot of people say that it looks like a Hummer . But as they get a closer look they get confused and ask me what kind of "car" it is . I only run with the soft top and the half door for the most part so they kinda get the idea that it's a Jeep but when they see the 3rd row seat then they really get confused.
I get that confusion a fair amount with the hardtop on, especially considering I have a 4-door.
I also think most of them mean the H3 when they say it, since that does have a similar slab side 4 door look to it, and was out longer than the JK Unlimited. To be fair, it took me awhile to get my head around a four door Wrangler too...
