London, through the eyes of a tourist

As most of you know, I am in London for four months, as I am taking college courses (and hopefully getting that internship at the British Museum). But anyway, I have been here for a week now, and I have some pictures. Mostly touristy stuff, but here goes:

St. Paul's Cathedral:

Tower Bridge:

The Mayor's Egg:

MI-5, Britain's FBI building:

Parliament:

Me and Buckingham:

View from the London Eye:

FYI, the weather had actually been pretty bad until two days ago. Now it's sunny with scattered clouds. Too bad our ride in the London Eye didn't coincide with the sun.

Awesome pics! I love Gothic architecture. Good luck on the internship.

Ahhh, those pics bring back memories! I pushed someone into that river by Parliment...almost got me sent home.

I'd love to go back there again some time and see some friends there. Good luck with the internship, and definately travel around while you're there. There's a ton to see, and it's all relatively close.

Been to all those places. Brings back very good memories, I'd go back in a heartbeat to visit. Enjoy the time there and good luck with everything.

BTW, about how long of a wait did you have for the eye?

20 minutes or less. Funny story, I had my Jeep knife that I always carry with me, so before I came around to be wanded and asked "do you have any knives," I had to tuck it into my shoe. Luckily, I wasn't wanded there Lesson learned though, no more knife-carrying in England.

Yea, I can't wait for China's terracotta army to have an exhibit here, it opens in three weeks.

Wait a sec, you can't even carry a jeep knife? WTF is wrong with these people? I guess that is why they are called subjects...

fo sho. Actually, it was heightened security because of an incident they once had. Also, after you leave the pod (the wheel never actually stops moving), they bring in a team with mirrors on poles to make sure no one leaves a bomb on the car. Better safe than sorry, I always say.

If I was going to bomb something in London, I don't think it would be the London Eye.

Great pics but we could have done without the pic of you. I have yet to make it over to anywhere Europe but plan on getting there soon. I had the opportunity to study abroad in Rome but did not have the money, my only regret from college was not getting to study in Rome. Have fun and stay safe.
