locking gas cap mod

So I bought a locking gas cap from ebay. When using it, I get the small evap leak code so I put the oem one back in. Has anyone done a mod to make it seal better? Gasket or extra rubber seal? Something simple or home made? This can't be too hard I just want to see if anyone has done something good. I dont want to spend more money if I can make this one work.
