Okay, I'll start.

The economy:

It's become very common for members of the Bush administration to refer to the "Clinton Recession." This is not simply finger pointing, it's an example of the administration rewriting history to perpetuate a lie.

In an effort to shift the blame to Clinton, the Bush administartion hired a private firm (historically unpresidented) to evaluate the economy and move the start of the recession back from March 2001 to January 2001 so they could blame it on the Clinton administration.

Surely you've heard of the Clinton recession. It's likely that you've even used the term. It is however patently untrue. Bush himself admitted in mid 2001 that the economy entered recession in March 2001. He has since of course flip flopped and pointed the finger at Clinton.

Quote:
Ari Fleischer Nov. 1st 2001

"...and then the recession that began in March of this year... "

Ari Fleischer Nov. 30th 2001

Question: "Nita Lowey has been quoted as saying that this is George Bush's recession. What does he think about that?"

Answer: "Well, you know, the President believes that the job of leaders is in Washington to -- the President believes that the job of leaders in Washington is to come here to solve problems and not point fingers."

Ari Fleischer Nov. 30th 2001

"And then as we learned just this week, the economy is officially announced to be in recession in March, some 40 days after the President came into office. Those are the facts as an economist would neutrally describe them."

Let the finger pointing begin!

After the administration conducted their very own economic report:

Ari Fleischer Jul. 31st 2002

"...from January of 2001 all the way through September of 2001, the economy did actually enter a recession."

Ari Fleischer Aug. 1st 2002

"...given the fact that we also learned yesterday that the recession actually began earlier than anybody thought..."

Dick Cheney Aug. 7th 2002

"It is now clear from the data that when President Bush and I took office, the nation had slid into a full-blown economic recession."

Ari Fleischer Apr. 30th 2003

"And it still remains numerically and empirically the fact that the deficit has been caused by the recession that took place beginning in January of 2001..."
All of the above quotes are taken directly from the White House website.

A few motos of the Bush administration are:

-If the facts don't fit, change the facts to fit the agenda.
-If we do something wrong, deny, and lie.
-Americans are stupid. If we say it enough, they'll believe it.

9/11:

Not a single person in the administration has accepted any responsibilty. Not a single administration official was fired. So, what went wrong, and why wasn't anyone accountable?

After 9/11, Bush blamed the intelligence failures on the previous administrations failures to rely on human intelligence and informants. The answer: Paid informants and moles.

WMD:

When no WMD were found, public pressure mounted and Bush looked like he lied. So what did he do? He put together a commission, not to investigate him, but to investigate the intelligence community and point the finger in their direction. The Bush administration has not accepting any responsibility at all for the intelligence failures.

The explaination for bad WMD intelligence was determined to be the result of relying too heavily on human intelligence. Bush had personally suggested paid informants. The information they provided was false because they knew they would only be paid if they told us what we wanted to hear. They also knew that after an invasion, some of these people would be given positions of power. One of these people was even slated to be prime minister before we found out he was spying for Iran

The Iraq War:

Bush said our soldiers would be greeted in the streets with flowers.

Now we know that in January 2003, prior to the invasion, Bush was briefed by the CIA on the likely outcome of an Iraq invasion: "At best, the peace would be tenuious. At worst, there would be civil war by the end of the first year."

So, now we know that Bush was well aware that the current situation in Iraq was inevitable. Who's he going to blame? Well, he's blaming the terrorists of course. This completely ignores the reality of the situation, which is that if you send American soldiers into the Middle East, they become a beacon for terrorists. Arabs don't like us, they don't want us there, and as long as we are in the Middle East, we are looked upon as crusaders and infidels. There are estimated to be 20,000 insurgents/terrorists in Iraq now (up from 5,000 a few months ago). The war in Iraq is now breeding terrorism as it's fought, not irradicating it.

Bush has not accepted responsibilty for a single problem. He claims that he has not made a single mistake.

"If we close our eyes and pretend it's the 50's everything will be ok, Gertrude. I just can't believe the world is changing, I hate change. I wish the First Ammendment didn't apply to those I disagree with."
