Letting everyone in on Jasn1981's dirty little secret....

Well after some of you had fun in Jasn1981's most recent thread abortion, "what should I blow $1200 on next," it turns out that serendipitously he ran into the one person on JF that could prove him the liar that members such as perfectcircle, gatorayde, and duffers accused him of being. And that person is me.

You see, Mr. Jason Studer from Seattle, Washington, owner of JS Custom Audio LLC and possible deadbeat dad, has boasted about 'his' project cars, a 1970 Challenger convertible with a supercharger and EFI, a 440 FJ5 1970 'Cuda, and a Viper-powered Dakota. He's posted pictures of these projects everywhere, including myspace, dodgeforum, and even here on Jeepforum:

See, here's where "Mr. Viper Dakota" went wrong. Trying to pass off someone's SRT-10 Dakota as your own is like trying to sell your run-of-the-mill diamond as the Hope Diamond. There just aren't that many V10 Dakotas running around, let alone a Viper V10-powered Dakota.

I'll let you all in on a secret - I know the owner of the pictured Dakota. In fact, I actually helped him out on the Dakota, preparing it for mock-up and cutting of the crossmember. I took many of the pictures that Jason uses as his own, and the others came from the owner, my friend. You can see that here.

So I decided to email him to see whether he was jasn1981, and to see where he stood on all of this. I received this response:

Quote:
Hey brian, nope not me. I still own the dak and the challenger!
Then I gave Jason a chance to set it straight in a PM:

Brian
It's a project I'm working on. There's a Rear Mount twin Turbo setup that will be put on it after I get it to pass California Emissions.
No luck on the honesty front. So at this point, I decided to see where the lies took Mr. Studer. I soon found that maybe Jason does or maybe he doesn't own any of these cars he professes to own. Take for example pictures of 'his' 1970 Challenger:

This first one is from his deleted thread where he boasts about his 70 Challenger convertible and his 440 Cuda:

And this second one is from his myspace website:

Sure, he says earlier (see picture 2) that cars have plates from different states. Okay, this immediately throws a red flag in my head, but maybe not for others. But two different plates on one car? I don't think so.

So I propose to jasn1981 that he tell his side of the story. I'd like to hear why he decided to impersonate the real owner of these vehicles. Why he decided that his popularity was based on the number of toys he had. That would sure make my day, and I'm willing to bet it'll make a few others' days, too.

I'm willing to bet that you'd be pissed if someone was claiming to do the **** that you had done.

Probably not, I think I'd take it as a compliment that someone thought so much of my whatever that they try and pass it off as their own. Him telling us someone else's cars are his is not a life altering event.

Im sure you would be pissed if i threw all your info up on the internet.

Looks like the start of a criminal career as a con artist.
