ANyone know much about the Humidor that comes with this? I think the smokes alone are almost worth it.

Its not the greatest.. I got one with a cheaper package deal a while back.. Took longer to season properly, but now it seems to hold the levels appropriately. Its just a cheap humidor, great as a second humidor to have around the office or whatever.

I just picked up an Ashton for $17 from some Freyboys in New York New York while I'm here in Vegas. I told the guy I was new go cigars and this is what he recommended. How are Ashtons? Obviously the price is marked up a bit.

Ashtons are good cigars. I'm guessing you smoked it already?

Not yet. Probably tonight if everything works out. I'm waiting for all my buddies to get their cigars together and stuff. I won't wait much longer, I don't want it to go bad.

I'm guessing you don't have a humidor? Wet a paper towel, wring it out and put it into a ziploc bag with the cigar...it will be fine.

Great suggestion. Thanks.

Since I'm new to smoking I don't have a kit yet or anything. I'll probably buy a variety starters pack off of CigarsInternational to get me going.

Wow, just found this thread.

I only smoke one or two a week but my current favorites are:

Talbak Special
Acid Blonde
Olivia
Drew Estates Copper Label

and pretty much anything Drew Estates puts out.

Picked up a Drew Estates Naturals Irish hops to have after dinner tonight.

Man's got to know his limits.

Met an old college buddy last night for some cigar action. He had a Patel 99 and I tried a Cain Habano 550. First one of those I had and it was good. Nice thick smoke, good flavor, made it through about 2/3 of it, definitely a multi-hour stick with a slow burn. Went well with some appleton estate rum.

That wound up damaging the cigar. Made it moisten until it almost fell apart and theres mold on it. I scraped the mold off carefully and put the cigar under a lamp to dry. It's ruined but I'll still smoke it. I'm not going to throw away $20.

Shouldnt have put it in wet. The cigar will just soak up all the moisture from it..that should only be done with a severly dry cigar. :/

If it was only going to be a few days out it would have been fine. If you plan on smoking regularly or keeping a few around then get a proper humidor.

Don't smoke it, chalk it up as lesson learned.
