A few pics of our group...

Here's where we launched. Just below the Ross Barnette Spillway. Then we did 10 miles.

Off we go...

Stopping for a little while on a sand bar...

It was a beautiful day with temps in the low 60s. Not a cloud in the sky.

It's in mint condition, bought from the original purchaser. He said he probably only had it in the water about 4 times the last 15 years. Heavy vinyl stretched over a hand built wooden skeleton. Built in Charleston, SC. and still in business.

Yep, the bars are held on with bolts and wingnuts threaded through the top rails of the trailer. I take them off so I can use the trailer for other things around the house. Takes just a couple minutes. And yes, I took these pics before the tailgate swap.

I just swapped my bumper to one with an integrated tow hitch, and will start assembling my HF 4x8 trailer. to start it might be a flat deck, but might consider a rack like you set up, any real pros/cons to it besides spending more $$?

My trailer started out as a 6 x 10 foot utility trailer bought from Leonard Truck supply. It has a rail about a foot high all around it with a removable tailgate. My rack is simply three 2x4s covered in outdoor carpet and secured with bolts and wing nuts only when I am carrying the boat. The rest of the time its a good 2000# rated trailer. Trailer was about $700, but is built much better than HB or Northern Tools offerings. U.S. built, and price included already installed Hub Buddies (externally greasable hubs, cost about $50 to add later). If you are going to need a trailer for other work, consider a little better one. It is worth it.
