Led lights

I am in the market for some 3x3 led pods and a 12" light bar for my 2005 jeep lj and I was curious as of to if I need and spod or how I could run them I found some great looking lights and im looking to buy but I dont want to buy them without know what all I need. Please help:)

Why on earth would you buy an sPod for a couple of LED lights? Wire them to a pair of switches in the dash. They're bound to come with relays ect needed.

Ok and I feel like a chump for asking but the wire harness that comes with the lights comes with a relay with a 30amp fuse. Where do I put the relay? Take and existing one from the box out? Or how does that work?

No. You don't use existing wiring for it at all. That relay hooks to the battery, the lights, the switch and a ground. It is triggered by the switch and opens a current flow between the battery and the lights. It allows you to run larger amperages without needing an expensive switch to handle the load.

Ok just the answer I was looking for. So what is the point of an spod then? I thought they we for running led lights

sPod isn't specific to lights. You can hook up just about anything to an sPod. Its just a series of 6 switches and relays that is pre assembled and wired. Its a very expensive decluttering product. I prefer to make my own setups.

Hah no. Think about how often you actually use the winch. Plus LED's draw a minimal amount of power.

Haha true. Actually we just got a lot of rain and im the only one in the group of people I hang out with that has so when they go mudding they get stuck trying to pull eachother out. Gotta get the jeep out the and winch out the chevys and fords and one cummins lol always love to give them a hard time about it

Now THAT was a strain on my battery. Had to hook the rear bumper to a tree to keep from dragging.

Dear lord what was he thinking lol. I wish I could figure out how to post pictures. ...everytime I try it says the file is to large

You don't have enough posts to post pics. You can host them at Photobucket. I do that anyways.
