Kind of Disgusted... Kind of Saddened
So I will paint the picture...
Early morning .. your driving your jeep, the one you built with your own hands. You have your favourite coffee in hand heading the place that makes you money for 8 hrs a day. You see the familar Jeep Headlights of another jeep coming up. You see it getting closer and you think.. cool someone like me is up this early who enjoys the same things as you. Then it passes you, a Chromed Jeep ~ I am talking, Headlights, bumpers - front and rear, mirrors, footman loops, light bar, grill inserts, spare tire cover, clear lens covers - front and rear - not a scratch on it, never off roaded. ![]() If your one reading this and you have the jeep above, your taste is not the same as mine. Read it and carry on!! For the rest of us, who will build our jeeps not buy them this is for you ~ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :chee rs2:![]()

I wouldn't drive it...ever. But maybe they build it the way they want it.

My Ram has some chrome on it. I think it looks damn good on the Ram.
The '73 Challenger I used to have had chrome as well. That looked better than the Ram.

I don't really pay attention to stuff like that. My time is too important and life is too short to waste it on being angry or upset because somebody likes something different than I do. In case you are wondering, there is no chrome on my Jeep. Quite the opposite actually. Blacked out. Often confused for an H2 (not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing)

Look at it this way, them buying a Jeep, then chroming it out by buying products from Quadratec and 4Wheel Parts is only giving said stores (as well as Chrysler) more business/money to better please you, the off-road enthusiast.
Not to mention is makes your Jeep look unique. You have to look at the "chrome" lining of the situation. |

I'm kind of disgusted and saddened that I got suckered into reading yet another thread where someone is impotently whining about something that's really none of their business.

You should have flagged him down, drug him out of the Jeep, and beat him!
How dare someone drive a vehicle that looks the way they want it to look. I mean really, what is the point in not having a vehicle that looks like everyone else'? The nerve of some people. |

My Jeep has a chrome grill insert, headlight bezels, and a chromed stainless front bumper (never seen that before). Yes, the bumper is stainless with chrome on it, very unique!
And I refuse to remove them. The PO had them put on god knows when and when I saw the red/black Jeep with a chromed face I thought it was very interesting and wasone of the only aesthetic considerations I had when I decided to purchase it from him. Granted, I'll never add anything else chrome to it, wil probably add some fabbed up black body armor to the old dog. But I think that my red and black jeep with a chrome face has just the right balance of flash to go with the ruggedness that is "all things Jeep". ... plus the chrome draws your attention away from the rust. ![]() I've seen a few Jeeps that over did it in the past. I can't help but smile to myself about it, but I still give them the wave.

I'm thinking of getting a chrome front grill overlay.
There. I said it.
