Jeep Wrangler on the TV show "The Amazing Race" tonight

I was wondering if any of you guys saw the "Amazing Race" on CBS tonight. One of the things they had to do was drive a Jeep through this huge mud pit. The whole thing was covered in mud so it was hard to tell exactly which Wrangler model it was though.

Did anyone here see it? Perhaps someone with more Jeep knowledge than a newb like me would be able to tell me which model they were using on the show.

Thanks

PS. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum.

Too bad they had GSAs on them They weren't doing that good in the mud! I'm not sure if they were LJs, every once in a while they looked long. They didn't have tops on, so it's a little harder to tell.

It's easy to see if they were an LJ or not with the top off...the rear vertical rollbars are angled back towards the tailgate, on the TJ's they are at a 90 degree angle straight down....

Yea.. I seen it.... Only one team made it through... Their little daughter/son said "lets go 120mph so we go onto of the mud" (it was something like thaT)

Damn good thing they didn't use H2s.. or everyone would've been dead...

Two teams made it through actually. The kids made it through the first shot cuz there was barely no weight bogging them down in the back cuz the kids took the back seat (should have had the kid drive )
Then the son-in-law team made it through on like the forth try. All four of them were in the jeep which probably weighed it down trememdously. Like 250 pds or more in the back. Tis why they kept getting stuck. MAde an effort to watch that episode with the Jeeps

I was surprised that the jeeps did so good in so much mud...i've been literally mud deprived i guess with my Michilin LTX's it came with when i bought it....aaachh...college, no money, spent all my student assisstance on a winch and bumpers....

They were LJ's. At least that was my perception last night watching it. Did you catch what the winners of that leg of the race won? LIFETIME gas from BP for all licensed drivers. In that case 4 of them!!! That sweet!!!

i'd love to never have to worry about paying for gas again!

yeah I'm all about that lifetime gas thing. That would almost be as good as wining the million. To be quite frank... if prices keep rising, their prize may be worth well more than the million by the end of thier lives.

The jeep thing was cool, but I really would have thought jeep would have supplied them with some decent tires, because it sorta made it look like the jeeps couldn't hack it.

i saw it too. i almost missed it because i got boared watching untill they got to the jeeps. they were LJ's and the son in law team got thru on the 14th try. i loved it because they seen the team with the younger kids and said real sarcastic "oh, here is the team with the rug rats, he is a city guy he won't mak it" then he did it in the first try with the kids havin a ball the whole way. My kids love my jeep and i think that's what jeeps are for. i was happy to see them show everyone how it is done. then i quit watching after that.

I think they should have given them rubicons to see if anyone figures out that you could put it in low range and engage the lockers and drive right thru without any problems.
