Jeep Tent??

I ran across this while trying to find a new tent for camping.

I had never seen them before, and I have to say that I kind of just don't get it... I would think that with a TJ attached to the tent that it would not really offer any advantage space wise. The description states that the tent will stand alone as well. Maybe with a XJ, ZJ, WJ, or WK you could sleep in the back and have the tent as extra space. I'm just curious what the advantage of a tent like this is (other than just being cool because it would be one more thing attached to my rig )...

Anyone have any experience with a "Jeep Tent?"

I couldn't justify buying a tent like that. All 6'1" of me can sleep comfortably in the back of my zj with gear in the front two seats.

Attaching it to the back of a wrangler doesn't seem practical at all to me. What would it do? You can store stuff in the jeep without having a tent attached.

Yeah, I don't really see the advantage... Hoping that someone maybe has used one... It isn't cheap either....

Here is a whole other option...

and to think I was just looking for a new ground tent.... How funny would it be to roll your buddy's jeep a little closer to the lake while he's passed out in this thing...

Well, you could be roughing it in the tent while watching the DVD player/big screen mounted in the cargo area of your Jeep... also, you could plug your coffee maker into your cigar lighter and never have to leave the tent (except to pee in the shower... but that's another story).

What if somebody was trying to kill you while you were camping. Like in a scary movie then you could do a barrel to the front seat of you Jeep and take off with out getting killed.

That's It! Even if they stack those little piles of rocks around the Jeep- No problem... Must be why they don't advertise the tents for H2's...

XJ99- In all seriousness, that is pretty cool.

I get a Jeep Tent in my pants every time I look at the Jeep Girls II thread.

That is all fine and dandy until you have to drive somewhere. Then what do you do?

You can leave the tent free standing, and keep anything of value in the Jeep.....
