Jeep Sleep
There have been a few threads and a few discussions about sleeping in your Jeep. I am interested in a TJ/LJ.
I have seen and heard of people hanging hammocks between the roll bars and sleeping across the floor in the back. My goal is to find something that will accommodate my height and size. 6'3" and 230 lbs. I also have this subwoofer in the back that I want to build around until I get around to building new enclosures. I like the hammock idea, but not too sure how we would get along, and as far as sleeping on the floor.. Not going to happen with subwoofer there.. An dea I have was to build a foldable deck kind of thing that is about level with the top of the body. Where the top and body meet. Have it so it folds up and is well supported when unfolded. This seems like a possible solution to me. It should also provide adequate space. I measured and I should fit. ![]() What do you guys think?

I dunno man. I've seen lots of ideas floated around, I've even trown some out there, but I have to say. Some kind of Hammockfrom the roll bar to a guyed support pole outside the jeep just seems like the best option I have seen. A TJ just has too little space in the first place to store a bed and hammocks curl up pretty small.
I usually end up sleeping on the ground myself, but...

On my last wheeling trip I slept on the floor of my TJ with no windows and the temps dropped to below freezing. It was awesome...well the wheeling was but not the sleeping. I'm 6'1" 200lbs and I had to curl up just a little bit to fit with the seats folded forward.

The passenger idea is pretty normal. It's the basic of ideas. I want to try to engineer a good way to sleep inside. I have a little extra room with an LJ.

That's one of the main reasons I want an LJ. Subscribed.

I've slept in the back of my ZJ a few times and had plenty of space.
