The Jeep Samurai??

I just wanted to ask what the hell is up with everyone calling the Unlimited a LJ? I just find it funny that people are calling them LJs and that AEV called there TJ based truck the Brute. The Suzuki LJ or Brute is the predecessor to the Suzuki samurai. If all you Jeep owners want a Suzuki that bad go get one.

I knew something just wasn't right with it being called LJ. It's still a TJ in my opinion, just like how there was the CJ-5, then little bit longer wheel base, CJ-7, then longer simular to what the unlimited is now, the CJ-8.

Offically it's....

On everything I see from the DCX ... I work there ... is that the Unlimited is TJ (LWB) as in "Long Wheel Base." Maybe some folks like to create new acronyms, but my Unlimited Rubi is no Suzuki! Though we do like to stop and eat sushi on occasion!!

Here's a pic of My 1998 Suzuki

It had a 3" suspension with Doetsch Tech shocks.

30"x9.50" tires

Rear locker

I beat the hell out of it for 180,000 miles and it just kept asking for more.

That is a GREAT picture!

My good friend Mark has a Sami that he did an SOA with 31" Swampers, and it is an EXTREMELY capable off-roader. He brings it out to go wheeling with us, and let me tell you, he is usually the first one to try an obstacle (Mostly because he cares the least about whether or not his rig gets trashed)

Because on the Unlimited's metal grille tag it's stamped LJ in the spot where TJ's have a "TJ".

btw, why does everybody at some point in time or another mention Suzuki samurai's? Do they have some connection between Jeeps?

Was there a mating ritual between Jeeps and Samurai's?

Actually the pre samurai wasnt an LJ ...I had one, 1985 SJ 410 JL.
I had a friend who used to say the JL stood for "junior league".
