Jeep Firefighter/ EMT's REPORT IN.

F.F. O'Brien here, just wanted to see if we could get enough people togeather and maybe start our own little jeep club. Feel free to post your rigs and whatever you ride at the station. For myself, I'm a former Heavy Rescue and now a Engine/ Truck guy.

In progress...told myself I wanted to get my Civil Eng. Degree first then keep it as a hobby and volunteer - now i'm not too sure on that. Kinda wishing I went right into career mode. Right now I'm working on getting on a local volunteer gig, and getting my NREMT-B by the end of the year - but scheduling wise it might not work out and I may have to wait even longer so I guess i'll see what route I take...

Engineering might be a good part time gig as a career fire member. My brother in law is a civil engineer and owns his own firm. Does some home inspections, sounds like a good day off thing. Lt. EMT-B here nearing retirement.

I like Civil a lot but I'm pretty sure I'd like FF better. I guess either way Civil Engineering is a good backup if I had to stop doing FF... Odds are i'll probably get my Civil degree and see what I can make of FF, if I get a career gig, probably go with it. Even though I can't stand waiting any longer...

Still around, I am retired now. Still working parttime job at aluminum smelter in security. Security is comprised of off duty and retired FF's. We have a fire truck and ambulance, fire every now and then, make a lot of ambulance runs and a hazmat incident sometimes. Pretty good retirement situation, 2,3 days a week for good pay.
