Brawling nowadays
Yeah, i took a girl to see her x-boyfriend because she thought he was going to get abusive during the talk. Now if any of yall are from Jersey anywhere, you know Paterson NJ. It's a step-down from Camden.. So, im standing a few yards away from the x couple takling, smoking a big ole cigar in my boots, jeans, marinecorp shirt and cowboy hat. the funniest was rolling up in the wrangler with the top off to this place. So long story short, her x gets up like he's going to hit her, and i got in the middle telling to back down. His brother called out and 3 other guys steped out from behind the house, two of them pulling box cutters. Fortunetly nothing happened. But i tell ya, im a big kid, like 6'2" 290lbs and i was scared. Not afraid to say it. But acting tough and we all backed down let them talk and drove home, scratch free. But it was one hell of an experiance..

My buddy Lorenzo I used to work with got in an argument at a bowling alley with someone else. THey got kicked out, and fought in the parking lot. Lorenzo kicked the other guys ***, and went back inside. Lorenzo leaves the bowling alley, where he runs into the other guy in the parking lot. THe guy who got his *** kicked pulls out a gun and shot Lorenzo, killing him. What happened to manning up to your losses and moving on. Nope, now you just come back and shoot 'em. There in lies the reason I avoid confrontation at all costs.

And thats exactly why fighting isn't worth it most of the time.
I've only been in two fights and that was to back up my brother. He's loves to fight. Hes been somewhat lucky because he has been shot at, jumped, and had a few knifes pulled on him and hes still here.

KS was a transition for me. I had been living in west texas for a couple of years (the formative ones) and there you get in a fight and about 90% of the time it was you and that guy toe to toe.
KS it was the other way, you ended up getting hit by his buddy after you drop him. That town taught me the golden rule (back then, I don't fight if I can help it now) that's:
Hit them HARD, FAST, and BEAT them to the point of hospitalization.
It turned me into a animal. I'd punch people in the throat, pound on thier ears, stomp on thier knee caps, and kick them when they fell. No honor at all. I'm damned luck I never spent time in jail for it, but then again, nobody really knew who I was.
My boys will get martial arts training. 1. to teach them control 2. to teach them to protect themselves without having to send anybody to hospital. Down here, there's plenty of stabbings, but usually only in a few places. For the most part people don't pull knives knowing you might be carrying a gun.

Wow, all that excitement from one fight. you must go to a very peacful school. last year at school there were almost seventy fights that administrators found out about, and we have off campus lunch so there were far more. Hell, just a couple of weeks ago one kid got into a fight with some cops. He stabbed three of them with butterfly knife, one in the neck and almost killed him.

I went to a Catholic high school from 1960 to 1964. If you wanted to fight someone you had to go someplace away from school. If you were caught fighting at school by the priest they would beat your *** worse than any fight you got into. I had a Franciscan order and I think they taught torture tactics to our Marines back then.

Our priests let it happen, and this was in the late 90's. We fought on campus but mostly off. No guns though. Knives were banned but I brought mine every day anyway. I did a lot of work for our multimedia group and running cables and cutting gaff tape you inevitably need something. One time I was standing on a ladder trying to cut off a ziptie from something and I couldn't get it off for the life of me. I had no idea the dean was standing behind me watching me. I pulled my Spyderco Endura, snapped it open upside down, and cut the tie, then stuck it back in my pocket. Then I step down and turn around and figured I was going to be suspended for a long time..and he's just like, "Almost done?" I'm like yeah almost, one more to run on the other side..he's like good, keep up the good work." And the dude just walks away. Being a nerd has its priveleges!

Yeah fights these days can get pretty brutal. My Junior year of high school, (2002) these guys got in a fight over a girl. One was her boyfriend, the other was her brother. Well, brother didn't like the boyfriend, and decided that the hallway between classes was the best time to "discuss" it. Long story short, brother gave the boyfriend one good pop with brass knuckles, broke the kids nose, jaw, cheekbone, and busted up his teeth and that was it. Teachers pulled them apart, blood EVERYWHERE. One teacher had to go home and change because his shirt was covered with blood. Didn't help that the fight happened at the farthest corner of the school from the office, he bled all the way there. It was right in front of my locker too.
