2 The LORD said to me, "Do not be afraid of him, for I have handed him over to you with his whole army and his land. Do to him what you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon."

3 So the LORD our God also gave into our hands Og king of Bashan and all his army. We struck them down, leaving no survivors. 4 At that time we took all his cities. There was not one of the sixty cities that we did not take from them—the whole region of Argob, Og's kingdom in Bashan. 5 All these cities were fortified with high walls and with gates and bars, and there were also a great many unwalled villages. 6 [B]We completely destroyed [a] them, as we had done with Sihon king of Heshbon, destroying every city—men, women and children. 7 But all the livestock and the plunder from their cities we carried off for ourselves.
Yeah, that doesn't sound murderous at all. A kind and loving people, indeed.

I love religious debates. Such great entertainment.

The word 'amen' was mistranslated. The correct pronunciation is Aw-mane, not 'amen'. Amen is one of ancient Egypts most popular idols. When you are praying and finish with something like --'..and we ask it in your name, Amen.' it looks as if you are asking help from an Egyptian god. If you think the God you are really talking to is going to be understanding about your mistake, think again.

Exodus 23:13, “And be watchful in all that I have said to you. And you shall not mention another god by name; it shall not be heard from your mouth.”

“Amen (â´men, ä´-) or Ammon (à´men) or Amon (ä´mèn), ancient Egyptian deity.

If you are not sure how to pronounce Aw-mane, it would be better to say 'so be it.'

And how do you know that the Amen god is not the one and true god?? Oh wait...yes..I know...Cause the Bible tells you so. What's the last word in the bible again? Yes, you guessed it. Amen. So you if you need any more proof that the bible may not be entirely accurate, there you go. Oh sure, you can go back and read the original documents - but is that what people are doing? Is that what their beliefs are based on? No. They're basing it on the error-prone translation, baby.

So be it. If you read some of my posts, you would see I dont care about "God" or any other religious bull****. Its all made by man, for man. Santa Claus delivered Jesus when he was born and the Easter Bunny had a party for him.

And like I said earlier, God is the degenerate dad thats never around. I pray to Joe Pesci and worship the Sun, just like George Carlin.

I haven't read your other posts, and I did think your 'amen' was sarcasm...but...you were the only one who said 'amen'...so, I took the opportunity to talk about it. Thanks!

Nothing sadder than evangelical atheists. Those confident in their beliefs keep them to themselves. Methinks the godless doth protest too much....

I did no such thing. Comprehension is a large part of intelligence. The article must not be about you at all.

pretty much knocks out the possibility of any born-again reaching heaven, doesn't it? unless you plan on citing some scripture that happens to 'supersede it', which would in and of itself introduce multiple contradictions and then place the validity of literalists in quite a tricky spot..

There are any number of implications that can be read into that statement, you were either trolling or lack comprehension skills yourself.

******

You are correct, it makes no sense..so, it's very possible it means--'Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God in that manner that a child does, will not enter it.'
