Insurance Job Opinions...

Hello, while parked on the street somebody decided to back into my jeep and push in the door and slightly bent in the rocker above the sahara molding. Also took a little chuck out of my tire. So i now have a $2000 check in hand for the damge and wonderred what you people would do with it... Do i go through the body shop and have it fixed up nice (the jeeps not perfect) or should I toss a new door on, and use the money elswhere? What would you do?

I'd say if the rocker isnt too badly damaged, get a set of rockers
for it that has an internal brace that sandwiches the rocker panel.

As for the door, I'm not sure.

Pictures would be helpful. If the tire chunk isn't that big I'd just get it balanced and be done with it. The rockers I would bang out if needed and cover with rocker guards. How bad is the door. It might be able to be pulled out and repainted.

Being a '98, I agree, do what you need to fix it enough (new painted door to match, new rocker panels), and put the left over money towards a lift (like a BB) and larger tires.

I vote for "and use the money elswhere?" PM me and I will give you my address. A money order would be fine.

I would fix or replace the door it there was wind noise or leakage issues. I would get some rocker panels such as or warn or what ever to cover the damage (not sure extactly were the damage is) on your rocker, this will also get you extra protection off roading. Send the rest to me.
