I'll bet the pilots love that approach

I hear the old Hong Kong airport was pretty "interesting" to land at as well.

Flying into Quito Ecuador is really hairy.
And they have the burned airliner carcasses sitting off to the side of the tarmac from the ones that didn't make it.

Awesome video... "don't be afraid..."

Check out Lukla in Nepal, the runway actually slopes UP against a mountain, there is only one way and and out, and the other end of the runway is a sheer cliff. There is no going around, you either make it or not. On this video, right before touchdown you hear a long beep. That's the aircraft actually stalling, they approach it at a very slow speed.

Another one for high pucker factor: Saba, in the Netherlands Antilles. Right by the sea, tropical weather, beautiful island. What's dangerous? The shortest commercial runway in the world, at just 1300 feet long. The runway is flanked on three sides by cliffs that drop into the sea and on the fourth by the island. Up and down drafts coming from the cliffs, coupled with the miniature runway make this one of the most dangerous airports in the world.

How about landing in a turn? On a river? Dodging trees and stumps?

Cool video.
Actually Piper Cubs are the plane of choice for hunters and fishermen.
I have a friend that owns two of them in Idaho. He lives way back in the woods and has a short runway on his property.
They take very little runway for takeoff and landing, and have an extreemly durable airframe and landing gear.
They are slow tho'. Hunters love those and Satabrias.
They are actually a really safe plane.
Dodging the trees and rocks doesn't look fun, but I guess you get used to it.
That's why I fly helicopters. "There's a spot. I'll put it right there. Hold my beer." 30 foot diameter circle is all I need.

I want so badly to buy a Chithook. I have wanted one since I started flying.
They are incredibley expensive to buy and to fly.
But it would make the ultimate motorhome. I could drive my Jeep into the back, and head out to some cool camp areas.

Just a "What if I won the Powerball Lottery" dream....
