I'm going crazy, and I think I might cry

It's 3 am, and I miss my CJ.

So, I sold my Jeep because I was having a rough time financially and an even rougher time finding a friggin top for a CJ5 that wasn't going to cost me a fortune. I have an allergy to cold, so it ended up being a choice between my baby or anaphyactic shock. I made it though one winter with minimal damage, and after that...I had to let her go.

I've gone though about 7 or 8 cars since, and I'm just not happy. I'm driving a nice sports car now, but it's just not the same. My boyfriend has been a member of a Dodge Stealth/3000GT site forever, so I finally broke down and got one and joined the board....they had a post tonight about how no one ever waves back when they see other "3S's"
Someone mentioned the Jeep wave and how they "don't get why we don't have that" my response "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" I moan everytime I hear that phrase, but it's really very true.

I really feel like crying, I wish there was someway I could get my baby back! I should have never sold her! It's been well over a year, but it still feels horrible. Is it ever going to end? I wonder why I can't seem to get as excited about the Stealth?

I guess I continue to torture myself by coming on this site, because as long as I live in NC, I can't have one. It really sucks.

Thanks for listening,
Jenny

move down to fla...it was 96+ here today in tampa..at 11pm it was 86...we have like a month and a half of cold..sometimes it gets down in the 30's for a couple nights...you'd still be running the air conditioner in your house at xmas...we got everything but snow...you could drive your cj until the cows come home...you would need a top though cause it is currently monsoon season and we have afternoon thunderstorms..everyday...

LOL, I moved here from Orlando to go to school. It was a horribly idea, and I regretted it the moment I did it. I hate it here, but Get this...Cape Fear Community College $23.50/credit hour. MCC $66.11 (or $245.05 for non-residents)
I have four semesters until my RN, I already have spoken with the recruiter at Tampa General and I have a job guarenteed immediately after graduation. (Actually, I have a job guarenteed already with my CNAII, as soon as I can get down there)

With my current degrees, I could move now and easily afford tuition there, but it's gets sort of complicated after that...I bought this house in Oct, and I don't get the tax break if we live here less than 18mths, it'll cost alot to transfer my licenses, I'm not sure my credits will transfer, etc etc. I'm currently trying to figure out how to make this work next semester (I've already paid Fall tuition) it's not looking good

that gap in resident/non-resident fees is outrageous...they just jumped the fees for us at usf...i guess the president needs another house that she doesn't actually live in...or another chauffeur...and you know its almost oct now...hell..two more semesters up there and you'll have lived in your house for 18 months and can get the hell outta there...you've got guaranteed income when you move down here...i'd talk to the nursing people at usf...they'll take any kind of credit under the sun...as long as you do your last 30 credit hours here...i'm done in may...i can't wait..

That sucks. Move to San Diego an you wont have that problem. Sure you will probably wont get a job that gives you the adequate amount of money for the cost of living. But hey if you get a TJ. That makes all your troubles go away At least while your driving. I just drove to work at 4AM in the morning with no doors and no top. Sure I was cold *** hell but hey I enjoyed. And over here its sunny and warn the whole year round

with all the money lost jumping from one car to another ... you could have gotten a 1999 TJ already.

You need financial advice, not automotive advice.

LOL, I think maybe you guys forget....Jeeps hold thier resale, cars do not.

I bought a 96 Ford Contour for $2500, then a 79 VW Rabbit for $350, a 90 Geo Metro $700, a 89 Saab $300, etc. etc.
I MADE money each time I sold any one of those cars, I sold the Ford for $5000, the Saab for $1000 (I actually still have that Rabbit, it's dead though) I bought the Stealth for $2500, traded in the Metro and got $1000 for it and I owe about $1800 right now. It's blue book is $3500 and I could easily sell it on the board for much more.

The financial issues I had came from A) Not working, Nursing school is pretty intense. B) getting stuck and having to replace the steering box and driveshaft in a week C) a top for a CJ5 costs a friggin small fortune, in the event that you can even FIND one. I had no problems getting financing, only problems making the payments.

Nursing school does suck doesn't it...I'm almost done thank the lord. I want to shoot myself all the time just thinkin about goin back in a couple weeks. In the end the money will be good....but theres so much crap that goes on in the hospital...at least the one I work at..bein unerstaffed..and manditory overtime and crap. I'm startin to regret my chosen profession...cause its startin to look like I'll be able to afford to to sweet stuff to my jeep (finally), but I'm never gonna be able to play with him ne how. Sigh. Nursing its a gem.
