im 17 and just found out my GF is pregnant. Please old-timers save me the lecture my parents have given me enough. what i want to know if any one else is in or has been in my situation. i want to go to college but i dont know if its possible any advice please help.

dude im in the same position im 17 i just got medically discarged from the army i did it so we would have a place to live but that fell through... it all depends on if you have a place to stay, **** youll work a lot harder but its posible to go to college

All i can say is....

If it is yours man up and take responsibility dont bail out.

Make sure that both you and your girl finish school.

I had my daughter when I was 17. She is now 17 herself.

You will qualify for a lot of grants and financial aid. That will help.
You may have to go slow if you have to work, taking a couple of classes here and there, and night classes.
If your parents will help out that will help, a lot, even if you have to live with them.
I chose to do a quick degree, it was two semesters, then I was able to get a decent job.
Just be careful what you pick, I just jumped into nursing, got burned out, and now I just finished my second round of school and starting at bottom of this job area.

Serious make sure its yours. DONT say "oh ok" and put your name on the birth certificate. AGAIN let me say make sure it is yours. Im not saying be a Jerk about anything though. Hell blame your parents for making you do that. I see this way to often at the hospital where I work. (wrong daddy drama but their name is allready on birth certificate)

If you are willing to work hard and make sacrifices, anything is possible.

My sister got pregnant shortly after she began nursing school. She didn't know how she was going to make it through, but she was responsible and worked hard and was able to complete her nursing degree. 10 years later she is married with a happy family and a great job (making a butt load of money). Whatever you decide to do, it's time to grow up. Expect your life and priorities to change dramatically.

It's tough, I got my then girlfriend, now wife pregnant when I was 21 and she was 20. I was still able to finish college, and she put her studies on hold when we had the baby. After one year, she resumed college and finished.

It can be done, and it is hard, no doubt about it. One thing, please don not choose abortion. There are many peple out there that are willing to adopt a baby.
