I'll throw my morning wreck in.

Driving to work on a rural road at 50 mph when a 17 year old girl pulled out from her stop sign on a side road directly in front of me without looking! Got witnesses and everything, I swerved and she tagged my right rear just enough to get me sideways heading into a drainage ditch, three rolls and a headache later (no seatbelt, yes I'm an idiot) I'll be in the market for a new windshield and frame, rollbar, hood and some right rear suspension parts (probably more). I just hope they don't total it, like any of you guys know, way too much time and money invested. Glad to be typing this right now, though!

I'm glad you are OK. I hope she knows that you saved her life by swerving and not plowing right into her.

Your -are- a moron for not driving with a seatbelt - especially in a TJ.

Recently had a family friend (and local magistrate who kept me out of jail one night) die a couple nights before my dad's 50th birthday. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt and swerved to miss a stopped car and was thrown out and crushed. His viewing was on my dads birthday, and his funeral was on the following day that we threw dads suprise party.

Not a fun weekend.

And while I think it's stupid to enforce seatbelt laws(I'm a CJ major heading to be a cop in spring) I think it's stupid to not wear them.

But just the same, glad to hear you're ok. Got any pictures of the destruction?

You're right about the seatbelt and think I've learned a tough lesson. No pics yet, it just happened this morning, by the way how do you post pics on this site, I'm not a registered member

Wait, you only got a headache from rolling 3 times and not wearing a seatbelt. With such minor effects i dont know why i even bother to be restricted by my seatbelt.

FLLAME ON!

Keep moving forward. But keep an eye on history, for if you don't, you are doomed to repeat it.

Yeah, they don't call me ironhead for nothing! I play rugby, so maybe the little aches and pains don't matter as much to me. The soft top was up , but 2 piece soft doors probably held me in better then I would have guessed. I always wear a belt when the doors are off, but just got lazy with them on. I got pics today but don't know how to post them, anyone?

I don't think I'll try swerving if someone pulls out in front of me. I've been in a roll before (zj) and came out luckily with just a few scratches. My lil bro drives a 1500 chevy silverado, a woman pulled out infront of us and she stops in the road...this is a 4 lane with a turn so we try to go around her by hitting the opposite lanes. well the traffic over there so we turn back towads her and we hit her in the windshield pillar! Luckily all the swerving and such slowed us down enough...and the fact we hit her in teh strongest part of the car saved her life...officers said if we were a few more inches toward her door her head would be where the kc lights were! Pretty scarey!

Glad your okay though, Reason why I bring up the no swerving, tj's have a 4 star frontal crash rating! Good luck at getting it fixed, and I can host the pics for you if you need me to. PM me for my e-mail if you want to send them. Glad your okay...

Seatbelts are iffy...Yes they would have saved several of my friends lives from not being thrown...it saved mine...but if things went down differently I would have been crushed....Zj's don't hold up at all!

Just thank God and let him know you appreciate the extra time!

You are luckier than you have any right to expect. I'm sorry about the Jeep but you might have totalled yourself; I'm glad you didn't. (For sure you owe a thank-you prayer.)

WEAR that belt.
