I want one of these REAL BAD!! Any suggestions?

Walking out of Mother's Day brunch with Mom, her BF and my fiance, I see this. The three all say "what a hunk of cr*p", but, my eyes are transfixed because I know this is a rattle can resto. The level of detail was sublime from the bullet hole in the window to the hydraulics (note this thing is sitting about 1/2" off the ground), and, I only wished I could have seen under the hood. I want one of these in a bad way and can't stop thinking about it. Anybody have any suggestions on either built sources or core units?

Learn how to do bags and a body drop, and you've got yourself a great project! Got a friend of mine made a custom body dropped frame, LS3, ifs, 4 linked rear, 22x9.5 front, 22x14 rear billet one piece wheels, that's in the makes for his 50's Chevrolet truck.

Looks sweet dude! That's exactly what I want to do, question is: Where to find a reasonable core unit that runs, has a nice patina, but is not rotted out through the frame? My buddy suggested driving south and trade for moonshine and a water heater for the house. Throw in a few squirrels for dinner and I might get the spare rear end that's holding up the beaver dam. Funny, but, not very practical...

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I know enough about cars to be dangerous, which is why I'm looking for something that's not too much of a rust bucket.

You could find one with motor/trans issues, do a 350/t350/700r4 swap pretty cheap, take it completely apart and do the air management and body drop, put it back together, you've got a bad ride. I've had a bagged and bodied S10, and currently about to start working on bagging my 1984 Chevy crew cab dually. You could probably learn quite a bit from build threads on street source.

Update: Truck owner located! I knew if I showed the pictures enough I would find somebody who knows the owner, it kinda stands out in a crowd. Anyhow, acquaintance sais this thing is "his baby", so, it could be a tough sell. In the meantime, looking for a decent core because I've always wanted to do a resto, just been intimidated by it.
