Hey guys i want to let you know that he PM'd me saying this:

2doorxj,

I am deeply sorry to have been putting you through this. I have not been trying to rip you off in any way. I have a check for you for $400.00 that I will mail out on monday with receipt confrimation. I do have a Rough Country LA kit but I never had it up for sale on JF. I quit using JF back when I sold my Jeep a few months back. I just recently caught my roommate using the account and just found out what he has been doing. I know even this message probably sounds like another scam. I dont know how to tell you it isnt. Me or my roommate either one has ever worked for Fedex. I dont know what has gotten into him but I have filed criminal charges against him for identity theft. He never spent a penny of the money he got from you which is a good thing. I need you address to send you the money. I can send it check or money order or even paypal if thats what you want. I do have a paypal account. He does not have access to it is why he wanted a check or money order.

Again I am deeply sorry and pissed off at the same time because now my reputation on this forum is ruined. Hopefully I can still poke around in here in the future. Again I just need your address to fix this all up. Included will be a copy of the police report I have filed against my friend. To protect him his name will be blacked out but all details will be visible.

All you guys have been real life savers, i dont know how to repay any of you. Moral of the story, NEVER use money orders ect, stick with paypal, even though they charge you for it, its well worth it. I also feel bad for the "real" Jonathon Roberts

Glad it looks like everything is going to work out for you! Great to see! Read again what I said. You can pay via paypal without paying ANY fees. It will waive the buyer's protection paypal gives you because it is for 'personal' uses such as sending your kid money at college or something similar. You can still use it to buy. Just fund with your credit card.

i feel extremely lucky, most people will never recieve their money again. I cant stress enough how important paypal or even better meeting with the actual person is.

If it wasnt for some of you guys here on JF, i doubt i would have gotten my money back, especially to you LAXnjj18.

Well I hope the scammer is now "ex-roomate". If the story is legit, which the police report should show that it is, that's really messed up.

Now what about Duff? Didn't he get ripped off as well by the same person?

Bullcrap. Read through his old posts and threads. A few months back he posted up about how he and his wife and just moved into a new home and the neighbour was complaining to him about how he kept his dog tied up. How many married men have roommates?
I guess we'll see if you get your money soon. Let's also see if he makes thing right with the other member that his "roommate" scammed as well.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Guess we'll see.

Hahaha I saw that link too, what an idiot.

Well anyway, it did say he was 21, I know a lot of 21 yr olds who are married and still have room mates, makes paying for things a lot easier. soooooooo, you still may get your 400 back.
