Well im a buying long arms for my cherokee, from a guy here on jeepforum, he has the long arms new in box, and hes selling it because he sold his jeep. I asked him to do paypal but he said paypal ripped him off overcharging fees, so i said id send a certified money order, ive used it many times in the past on ebay and never had problems.

Well the other day i got the reciept in the mail that said he signed for it, so i asked him if he recieved the payment and he said no, and that hes going to check the post office tommorow.

This guy takes forever to answer my PMs, and im done dealing with him, is there anything that i can do to get the money back, or ect...

If anyone wants more info like his JF screen name let me know, maybe he knows somebody personally on JF that could talk to him in person.

How much did you pay? You can try to treaten him by telling him your gonna file for mail fraud.

i paid 400, i just PM'd him asking for a phone number, and could i actually file for mail fraud? would it do me any good?

Save your PMs, you sent a certified money order saying he signed it. Youll get your money back or long arms somehow.

any way in specific, ive got a bunch of reciepts, and all the PMs, but the problem is i dont know what/who could help.

Couldn't you scan or take a picture of the receipt and send it to him? (Or at least post it up here so we can see what the deal with it is)

take a pic of the money order reciepts? okay one minute, but its just a post office money order.

Well, there are two possibilities here:

1. He received the certified money order, signed for it, and is trying to keep both the money and the long arms.
2. It was delivered to the wrong address (possible, but unlikely) and somebody else signed for it.

From the receipts above, you have proof of delivery, as well as the signature of the person who signed for it. You should send him that scan of the receipts and see if he still denies signing for it. If so, someone is trying to commit fraud.

i sent him the pics of the reciepts and the pic of his actual signature, that he claims he never did. ill go down to the post office monday and see whats going on.

why would somebody else (not named jonathon *******) sign for it, they wouldnt be able to cash it right????

Go to the main post office branch unless you have a major one near your house for the city your in. They have the right people working at those than the smaller community service centers that are around. It is fraud and I believe a federal crime since it has to do with the postal service.

As for the check its rather easy to cash a check without showing a picture id at the right places. The post office might have a way to void the check and get you your money back. Its still saturday so give them a call and look online for help with it.
