I disagree that it should be closed. The scammer deserves everything that he has gotten and may get in the future. He wants to be a cop? He must have better morals than what he has. I hope that he don't get the cop job, he'd make a better scumbag lawyer or petty thief. I at first hoped that this turd would realize that you can't get away with scamming people and learn his lesson the hard way. Now it seems that he is even more dense than most and may take a more drastic measure for him to learn this lesson. The OP did nothing wrong. He trusted a fellow Jeeper, that is all. The turd is the one that admitted to wrongdoing so those of you that are now hammering the OP, you are also wrong.

Dead Donkey
A man bought a donkey from an old farmer for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day.

Come morning, the farmer drove up and said, "Sorry, but I've got some bad news. The donkey died."

"Well then, just give me my money back."

"Can't do that. I spent it already," replied the farmer.

"OK then, just unload the donkey."

"What're you gonna do with him?" asked the farmer.

"I'm gonna raffle him off."

"Ya can't raffle off a dead donkey!" exclaimed the farmer.

"Sure I can. Watch me. I just won't tell anyone he's dead."

A month later the farmer met up with the guy and asked about what happened with the dead donkey. "I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at $2 apiece and made a profit of $898."

"Didn't no one complain?" asked the farmer.

"Just the guy who won. So I gave him his $2 back."

The funniest thing is that someone got 50 free tickets. Or the math is wrong.

500 tickets @ $2.00 each = $1000
minus $100 dollars he lost to the farmer
minus $2.00 he had to refund the discontent raffle winner

=$898 PROFIT

New math

Just read this whole thing (yesterday & today)..........If anyone has ever watched a box set of "24", then they will understand how "just read one more page" works with this thread. Interesting

BTW........In the country, small time sheriff departments deputy's are appointed by the sheriff (kinda like good ole boys), at least it's like that where I come from. Cops, on the other hand, have to apply and be employed by the city.
That may explain the attitude of the police verses sheriff offices.

Thank you. I was hoping I wasn't crazy for thinking the same thing. I mean, I understand why some people on here are saying it's not worth the "lousy" $65, but I have to contend that to both daniel and myself, $65 isn't exactly lousy. It was apparently worth it to him to go to the lengths that he has to keep my money, and it is worth it to me to get it back. But moreso, through this entire ordeal, it has been about the principle and not letting some punk kid learn that he can get away scott free with stealing money from people. When I read on here someone saying they wouldn't bother doing anything to chase down a lousy 65 bucks, the first thing I thought was hey, I have a muffler I'll sell you...

I don't think anyone would have honestly shrugged this off, especially after finding out the kid was concocting elaborate lies to attempt to cover his ***.
