My 10 yr old shot his first 12 guage about a month ago. My oldest and youngest both were shooting a 20 guage when they were 8 & 11 respectively. I had to shoot it first and once they did it they couldn't get enough. I let my 13 year old shoot my 7mm .08 and it was a little heavy and the recoil was a bit much but he liked it. I think their favorite is the Remmington 514 single shot 22 rifle though, no kick and accurate as can be.

Been there, done that.

I remember shooting my dad's .44mag revolver for the first time several years ago. Almost kicked back into my face!
