I hate FedEx

so i wake up this morning and check my email, shipping confermation from FedEx saying that my tires have been shipped from Delaware OH with a expected arival date of tomorrow. so i come home from class a few hours ago and there is a message on my machine from the lady up the street with the black barn in the red roof saying that 5 tires were delivered there today for me and they were under the auning on their house for me to stop by and pick up.

bastard FedEx

so, my dads big Dodge isnt available to me to go up and pick them up in the fridged 15 degrees and flurries it is today, and certainly 5 315x75x16 tires are not going to fit in my jeep. so i walk up the driveway to the barn, start up the ol' Polaris hook the trailer up to it and drive 2 miles up the street to pick up my tires. i get there nock on the ladies door and her husband answers, i say thanks, and his words:

"yeah they got here at about 2:30 today, didnt have any idea what i orderd so i pulled one of the slips taped to it and saw it was for you guys, my daughter called your house and left a message. this isnt the first time ive had sh*t luck with FedEx, so i called them and b*tched at them"

already long story shorter, took me 3 trips to get all of the tires back to my house, needless to say they're all the right size (thanks Jeg's) they're in good condition, i got same day ground shipping, and they look awesome! bad news is... i cant mount them yet. hopefully after my wallet can fill itself back up with Benjamin's i can order my RE 4.5 RESA SF lift and TW's driveshaft.

I usually order everything with UPS which has for the past 6 years here givin me absolutely flawless shipping. Never again FedEx... Never again...

anyway, here are some pics

FedEx blows.

A buddy of mine ordered some parts and wanted them sent to his house in Carlton, Georgia. Yes, he did include the zip code.

The dipshyts at the FedEx hub in Atlanta had never heard of Carlton (who has?). They assumed that they knew more than the guy who actually lives there, so (completely ignoring the zip code), they shipped the box to Carrollton (a hundred miles away), where it was promptly (and permanently) lost.

Six hundred dollars worth of parts disappeared from the face of the earth because the idiots at FedEx thought they knew more about local geography than those of us who actually live here.

Morons.

I rarely have anythign shipped fedex. Personally I prefer ups because their air base is here in Louisville. many times if I get something ground shipped, it comes air because their air hub is here. good times.

You're not the only one hating FedEx -- they love to leave a slip to come pick up the item at their location, serveral times (my wife said they never rang the bell). So what does this mean? If heavy or bulky items, they just come by to leave you the "come pick it up" notes only.

Didn't realize it was you when you posted. Sucks, you live just outside of Louisville and you couldn't get UPS. Atleast you could go get them with the ATV

Frickin fedex did that today. Picked up a Besttop bikini top w/ no drill header from ebay for only $60 w/ shipping. Saw it was supposed to be here today, and with the Seattle weather we were advised to work from home. So it was perfect. Only the idiots didn't even try my apartment, they just delivered it to the office. I tracked my package and saw it was signed for and just about freaked thinking someone else had my top..

its really not a difference for me between fedex and ups for me...fedex usually delivers to my house at 11am-1pm comes between those hourse ups usually come at 4 30-or 5 15 for me...i usually prefer fedex since when i get my toys i can put it on earlier

Couldn't you have saved more if you didn't same day ship them?

And where did you order them??
