I dont know what i have

I recently just got a 2004 wrangler but I'm not sure if it is a tj or a rubicon does anyone know how to tell the difference between them

sjones26573 08-22-2013 12:14 PM

TJ is a model. Rubicon is a trim level. 2 completely different things. A TJ is any normal SWB Wrangler made from '97-'06. An LJ is any LWB Wrangler made from '04-'06, marked by an "Unlimited" decal on the side of the tub. A Rubicon is the top trim level for TJ/LJ's made from '03-'06. They are distinguishable by the "Rubicon" hood decal, Moab wheels, front and rear Dana 44's an Dash Locker switches (among other non-visible attributes).

Check the side of the tub for any decals specifying the trim level

Its tough to not post something real inappropriate with a title of the thread like that.

I always find it funny that people put "new guy" in their name. I always wonder how long it takes them to realize they can't change their name themselves.

newguytoday 08-22-2013 03:36 PM

I mostly put that as my name since I'm still really new to this and probably will be quite some time
