Hunting Rifles

We've done the assault rifle and handgun threads. How about hunting rifles.

What rifle(s) do you use for hunting?

Just recently bought a Savage .17 for varmints and target shooting. I'll try and get a picture.

I have used several, but am currently using a Weatherby 7mag/Zeiss scope. It is bigger than I usually use, but it will kill anything on the planet.

My favorite was my Weatherby 7.08. I have taken 30+ deer with it- including a 10 point on my wall.

I have a Remington 700 CDL .30-06 but haven't got to really use it yet.

Use a Browning BLR 308 that has never let me down. Killed two moose and countless deer with it. Only bad thing about it is the junk tasco scope on it.

Remington Model 721 in 30-06.my great uncle bought it new. When he passed away it stayed with his wife. When she passed on it went to my Uncle He sold it to me for $125. I put a $25 Tasco 3x9 scope on $50 rings and have been shooting it since 1984. Elk, antelope, caribou, mule and whitetail deer. And numerous other animals over the years. I love it and choose it every time I need a gun I can count on.

I've hunted with a K98 in 8mm for a while.

I know it's a funny choice, but many ammo makers make premium hunting ammo and they are really accurate, not to mention having an action that is still the mark by which other bolt actions are measured.

Otherwise, its ballistically comparable to a 30.06 and will drop any game in North America maybe short of a moose or grizzly.
