The sows seem to be ok. Last I checked they were in the pen, happily munching on slop.

As far as the snow goes... All we got in Charlotte was rain.

I don't own a pig, but snow-wise we're up to 14 inches and counting.

We enter the zone of impressive numbers when we consider the onetime cost of the 1996 floods ($27 billion, but still cheaper than the 1998 floods), the annual direct losses due to desertification ($42 billion), and the annual losses due to water and air pollution ($54 billion). The combination of the latter two items alone costs China the equivalent of 14% of its GDP each year." - Jared Diamond, Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed

Well not sure what the farmers are going to be putting down this year. The last corn crop seemed to produce well so I would assume a lot of the nutrients have been used perhaps something that will put the nutrients back into soil this year.

For those who don't understand the joke, definition of sow ~ place (seeds) in or on the ground for future growth; "She sowed sunflower seeds"
