How to take off your doors on a Jeep Wrangler TJ

I thought this might help the new folks to Jeeping and JF....There are 2 ways to do this...the first one is a bit more complicated but has its advantages....the second takes some literary skills and good eyesight.

*********************

Method 1:

First find your Jeep and make sure it is a TJ...next position the Jeep like the picture. It is easiest to take off the doors when you are fully flexed like the Jeep in the picture.

Next you need to find the doors....

And the nuts....

Take the nuts off with a wrench...

Your Jeep will then look like this...

Next is the hard part....turning off the interior lights....Go in your house and pull fuse number 4 out of your fusebox....don't just turn it off...it needs to be taken all the way out...
(make sure your father is not in the bathroom when you do this or he might not be able to read his field and stream while finishing his business)

Go back out to your Jeep Wrangler TJ.....Next cut the (green), (yellow), (blue and red) and (red and white) wires in your wiring harness under your hood...

Get in and enjoy your day with your doorless Jeep!

************************************************** ***
Method 2:

Look in glovebox...get manual out....read manual.

************************************************** ***

If you take the doors off doesn't it screw up the safety features of the TJ?

And what about mirror laws? Do I need to have mirror relocation brackets in state X?

Is it legal in GA to ride around with my foot hanging out, I mean it's still better than being on a motorcycle right?

If you would ever get out your manual it is stated all over that the doors and top of the jeep are only designed to keep you out of the weather and elements not for protection.

Depending on your loca state law you will probably be required to have a rearview mirror and a side view mirror. go to your local HD dealer and buy a take off left mirror. This will cost you around $10.

Classic... Clearly you missed the part where This is GD and the sarcastic tone of the thread.

Incidentally, Ontario only requires one mirror projecting 200 feet behind the vehicle. that would be my rearview mirror. I don't need a sideview technically
