I had a 99 Civic Si. No mods other than a K&N filter. It was fast enough for me and got good mileage for my 60 mile commute. I sold it and a few weeks later, saw it again with the Si logo changed to SI-R, fart can, lowered, single blade wiper, and wheels that looked like blades from a food processor.
What a way for an Si to die. ![]()

I'm not a camera person, hate taking pictures. Those were the only pics I have on my computer, and were after I had washed it after coming back from Fort Campbell's training grounds.

ARBs mess with ricers... Charge up your ARB as you come to a redlight. Look over at the ricer[s] till you get his [their] attention then vent your locker and give him the raised eyebrow. 9 out of 10 times the ricer thinks you have NOS. No matter how he [they] responds it's always classic.

My friend had a wicked 76' CJ-5 with a tuned 97' Vortech 350. It has everything, port and polished, cammed, high flow intake, performace chip, hedman header, dual flowmasters and a TH350 with a B&M ratchet shifter that he likes to beat ricers with on a regualr basis and he has NEVER lost to an import. He did lose to a big block Trans Am with a blower but hey were all human. Before you all flame him and call his Jeep a poser ricer wannabe, just know its name is Flipper, it is flat army green, it has no top or doors and the winshield frame is bent sideways from a flop. This guy romps his rig harder than most of us would ever dream of, thats why he has that kind of motor. I swear guys, there is NOTHING better than the look on a ricers face at the next stoplight when this beast whips thier asses. They look SO damn confused. They cant say anthing about the launch either, my buddy always revs those dual flowmasters up real high before the light turns green, he will do it till the ricer does it back so he knows thier trying. I guess 400h.p. AWD and a 3,100 lb truck make for a great rice racer. Only in a straight line of course but like you said its 1/4 mile at a time and this Jeep is king of the 1/4. I love that damn thing. And its a Jeep thing which makes it WAY cool.

Oh that's classic! I'm hoping to put the same setup (except for a 700r4 in place of the TH350) in my CJ in the next couple of years. That story just added a little extra incentive. |
