I've spent about $2100 on my jeep, including the cost... I'm in the same boat, first Jeep, first car. Of course i've only had my Jeep for a few months. Most of the mods I'm planning on doing myself..... Worked on and owned a tractor collection since I was 12.

$2500 for jeep
$600 for top and hardware
$400 about that for misc. parts and pieces
About $3500 total so far.

Need Tires soon: $320
Line the tub: $20 - $100
Electric fan: $50
4.0 Throttle body: $50
Spacer: $50
Exhaust: $150
Cooler air filter setup: $50

Rear axle swap: $150
V8 swap: Priceless

Think I'm gonna skip some of the middle stuff like the throttle body, exhaust, spacer, and save it for the V8, fan is a definate.

I have owned mine for going on two years. Cant count all I spent but just in the last month I did go through $1,500.00 and counting. No engine work, lift or tires involved in that figure either.

Bought the YJ used w/95k on it in '96 for $8200. Since then, Quadratec alone says I spent $6,000. The motor last Nov was $3500 or so. Probably another $3000 at non Qtec places. So, maybe $20,000 total. Cheaper than a new one, less worries too (no warranty, no 'new car' cares).

i would estimate that i have 9 grand in upgrades. i do most of my own work too. if i paid to have everything done to it, i am sure it would be double.
it is easy to dump a ton of money in there.
here are a few starters.
5.0 atlas= 2500~
warn front hub conversion 1000~
ford 8.8 500~
arb, and alloy shafts in shaved 8.8~1500
it adds up fast.

please dont call my wife with this information
