How do you fix a leaky faucet? Mine is leaking like in those old bed commercials where the faucet drips and the people cant sleep. Im going insane, does anyone know how to make this stop.

From what I remember it is usually a washer inside the faucet that has gone bad, hard to say where it is located without knowing what kind of faucet it is. You can but a new one at Lowes pretty cheap depending on how fancy it is. That will definately fix the problem and they are easy to install.

Buy a new faucet, unless you have an expensive one. Like was said, the culprit is usually a rubber washer in the valve. Determine whether it is hot or cold and go from there. That's how I fixed my shower the other day. I bought a new valve for $11.

Old faucets have washers and seats. I would replace both as it is an easy fix. You may need to buy a tool to remove the seat. If you do one side, I would just go ahead and replace the other side. Simple solution and minimal cost.

Newer faucets (I have been putting this project off) with one handle have a different contraption inside so I can't help you much.

Rip out the kitchen sink, faucet, counter and cabinets. Then tear out the old dated floor tiles and put all new in.

Thats what I did. Worked like a charm.

Turn off the water before you take anything apart. If you replace the whole faucet, go with something like a Delta (or similar) so that future repairs/rebuilds will be quick and easy.

Oh..... and turn the water back on when you are finished repairing/replacing the faucet.
