So unless you have a old school 426, 392, or older Hemi it isn't a true hemi.
Does a 1957 341 Desoto Hemi count?

Speaking of gas mileage, we are getting 15-16 town and 20-23 hwy.

These get descent mileage if YOU KEEP YOUR FOOT OUT OF IT!!!!
I know a few people with Hemi dodge trucks and they constantly cry about the mileage. They ALL drive like they are running for their life.

Turbocharge it!
Then I'm interested!

Yep. All the early Hemis are true Hemis. Real hot rods of their day.

The new Hemi is no slouch. It breaths like a race prepped engine and it is dialed way down considering it's potential.

The aftermarket has great support for it too. Not just weenie bolt on, but retrofit kits for older MoPars.

Probably what I will do when I start on my '72 Plymouth.

Turbocharge it!

Just bought this baby. I was so happy to find the right truck with a Hemi. And yes, it will get good mpg if you drive it right. The engine is so powerful that it barely notices hills and can hold 65 with the cruse control very well.

It's an 2003 5.7L 4x4

I assume I am number 17?

I REALLY wanted exactly that kind of Dodge truck with a Hemi.
BUT trucks bring a HIGH premium around here. I mean 16K -20K+ and that is from private parties.

But the Durango market is pretty soft. We got ours for $12K, 1 owner, like new inside and out with almost every option.

Turbocharge it!

I have heard people complain about it, but I have to sit and listen for it to even hear it. It is very faint on our '04 Durango and it just broke 100K miles. What I hear from Chrysler techs is it is normal and don't worry.
I'm guessing it is pretty loud on some engines.

At idle not very noticable. Accelerate next to a jersey wall on the highway or on ramp with window down, very noticable. Almost sounds like an exhaust leak.

I have a 2005 white off-road and as far as the tick I don't notice it cause I have straight pipes this is not a fix but a good cover up to a annoying sound. My old 360 had a rattle to it so when pipes didn't work I put a sound system in it I will post pics when I take some.
