Help on mixed drinks

I have never tried any mixed drinks before and I would like to start. I have been trying a lot of the different microbrews and I have found that beer is not really what I want to drink anymore. Maybe getting older has made me a bit more sophisticated in what I want to drink. So I would like everyone to tell me what their favorite mixed drink is and what is in it. And if at all possible try to give a brief description of what it tastes like. This way it may cut down on the amount of alcohol I would have to buy to try a few mixed drinks. Thanks for the help.

Ask for a Colorado Bulldog. It's like 90 proof chocolate milk.
Or if sweet is not your thing, try a gin and tonic. They are refreshing in the summer heat. Also Margaritas are good.

There are a lot of good mixed drinks out there, I prefer beer, but here are a couple of my favorites:

Captain & Coke
Seagrams 7 Whiskey & 7UP
Strawberry Daquiris
Long Island Ice Tea (prepare to get real drunk though!)

Margaritas are awesome. I also love Rum and Coke. If your tastes are more sophisticated, you should try Guinness.

How did you get to 38 without trying a cocktail?
If mixed drinks don't do you right, try really good liquor straight or on the rocks. Scotch is good.

I'm a bartender here in Vegas (not for one of the fancy places or anthying), and i know what I like. For cocktails, a really good one that is catching on is called the Washington Apple: Crown royal, Apple Pucker, and cranberry juice.

I tell you what, a really NICE cocktail is a raspberry martini: Tell your bartender to use a shot of Absolut Citron vodka, Chambord, and a splash of pineapple juice. shaken and strained...it's amazing. a bit girly, but you know what...who cares.

sweet!

Jtwampler i ask myself the same thing almost everyday
To be honost I am a creature of habit. I have been drinking MGD since I was in the Army. Now I have been wanting to try different things and I think it is crazy to pay 6.50 and up to try a mixed drink I may or may not like. so I thought I would ask the very knowledable people on this forum.

im doing a marketing project on reviving the Kool-Aid brand and one of the focus's that im doing is marketing toward college kids. you would be surprised how many drink mixes i have found that involve kool-aid.

my personal faves:

slarty bartfast:
1/2 Grape Kool-Aid
1/2 Southern Comfort

Merry Bloody Forest:
1 Part Raspberry Kool-Aid
1 part Orange Juice
1 Part Vodka

Smurf Piss:
2 parts Berry Blue Kool-Aid
2 parts Mountain Dew soda
1 Part Grain Alcohol

swamp water:
1 Part orange juice
1 Part Berry Blue Kool-Aid
1 Part Southern Comfort

and possibly my favorite title ever:
PURPLE PANTIE PULLDOWNS
1 package grape
1 package lemonade
2 cups sugar
.5 liters of Vodka

Jack on the rocks or margarita on the rocks. Most people screw up the 'ritas though. It should be 2 oz. of your favorite tequila, 1 oz. of Grand Marnier and the juice of 1 lime.
