hanna victim my jeep (pics)

out driving the other day and i got swept downstream in a local creek spun in circles for about 50 feet then got some traction and reversed onto the shore wedged in between the bank and a small tree the blue line is where the water was at the highest point

with help we secured the jeep to a tree and used an old winch line some tow straps and a come a long hand winch to pull me jeep out of the rising creek over about 4 hours while only being able to cross on a fallen log over the creek(very intense) took two trips out of the trail to get more recovery items to reach the right trees

heres a little of my oil

cylinder

engine bay

got the motor running after about 4 oil changes, and oil pan drop and cleaning and some atf in the cylinder heads

interior stripped

running without smoke now, just throwing a o2 sensor code. makes sense the exhaust was full of water

You did turn this into your insurance right? They'll total it and you can buy it back for a fraction of what you bought it for. Then you can keep this one for a wheeling machine and use the dough to buy a daily driver. I just happen to know someone that is selling a great Jeep....

I drowned a Jeep once. I got it running but it was really rough then within a week I blew the engine.

How come your jeep started out blue and turned black?

You certainly didn't waste any time stripping the thing down...now's the time for herculiner if you haven't done it already

Most places it does work like that. Illinois is just strange. I know, I lived there for 8 years before I moved back to my beloved cornhusker state.

Being that he changed the oil several times and stripped the interior won't it be hard to asses the damage? He may of screwed himself by working on it.

Were you driving in a creek during a tropical storm thinking that it was a good idea?

What, there's something wrong with that? But it's a Jeep!

Nothing wrong with it, just making sure I read things right. I was looking at all the pictures trying to find the road that he slid off of but then I read it again and realized he was driving down the creek.

I'm guessing that snorkel install wasn't followed by any other water proofing like it should, most people think that ARB snorkel means "let's go find a river to drive across".

i think this may be the first time we agree on something. i won't tell if you don't.

you weren't the victim of a storm, you were the victim of potentially fatally poor judgement.

potentially. that means try harder next time.
