halfway point

does anybody know what state is the halfway point from Chicago, Illinois to Las Vegas NV?

If you draw a straight line in google earth Nebraska is in the middle. But cars unfortunately have to drive on roads and not straight lines.

Well... its 1752 miles, so halfway would be 876... So I'd say around Sterling, Colorado... its 880 that far...

1752 miles each way... that's 3504 miles... even at an average of 20 mpg, you are going to use 175 gallons of fuel, at at an average for cheap gas of 2.75/gal, that's $481 in gas round trip.. hmm... actually that's not as bad as I would have thought...
