Grease

Lately, my $45 grease gun has been acting up and not dispensing grease in a timely manner. At the local everything-store, the sell the little mini grease guns which guys at work tell me work quite well. I also noticed that in addition to the regular no-name grease they sell, they also sell marine grade grease that's rated NLGI-2. I'm using the Castrol Syntec heavy duty grease right now so who else out there uses marine grease and even though it's NLGI-2, do you guys recommend it? I'm getting ready to trash my normal grease gun.......

I've been using the marine grease in my vehicles for a few years with no problems.

I like heavy equipment grease. It has the same water resistance as marine grade but it has a higher shear strength than the marine grade stuff.

Check to see if they carry Red Eye brand, but if not, any red, sodium based grease will work.
