the newspaper lists them, but don't get your hopes up too high, the nice cars get sold at dealer only auctions, the crappy cars go to public auction, I didn't see any cars worth over 1k and most were about 300-400 cars, and not worth a penny more

The site has links on it to the local government auctions, at least down to the state level. Anything county or township related you would most likely have to stop by the local offices.

You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?[/QUOTE]

They come up on eaby from time to time. Keep in mind though they're 2wd with super super low gearing. I believe the motor is generally a nissan diesel though, sweet!!!!

I would just love the drive train out of it. Or swap in a transfer case and front drive axle. Short, sweet, and geared to death. Bet the handling on the Hwy would be a lil dicey tho. It probably has only a 20mph top speed now anyway.

GSA auctions are open to the general public. Back when they sold off all of the Cherokees, you could pick up a well maintained, late model XJ for a song. I've seen a few that people paid ~$2500 for that were low mile and still looked pretty nice inside and out.
