My wife is self-employed, so we have to pay every year.

My tax return will be going towards a rear tire carrier. But I have not even sent it in yet.

I haven't gotten any W-2s yet... I dunno if I wanna spend mine on a laptop OR make a double/triple car payment with it, also maybe a membership here and quit freeloading.

I don't like how if you don't have a kid or aren't in school you get less back.

I'm in no hurry to send mine, I dropped from $1700 last year to $600 this year. Of course, I should be happy, they don't pay interest on the money they withheld.

I should do what one of my old supervisors did, claim a ridiculous number of exceptions and put the tax money in a high interest account for the year.

As he put it, "I don't see why I should give the government an interest free loan with my money"

... and I only just got my last W-2, hopefully I'm due a decent sized refund after the overtime I put in at the start of the year.

I claim 8 exemptions to limit tax withholdings. I only file 5 dependants and I still get $4k-$5k back every year.

I claim no exemptions and I have no dependents, so I pretty much pay full whack and usually don't get much of a refund.

However, this year, I'm pretty sure I overpaid, so we'll see how that works out.

I hope I overpaid, I could certainly use the damned money right now.
