GOT MY HEADS BACK! 440 Plymouth Duster Build Update!

Well, apparently all the local machines shops are drying up and going under or moving away from my area. The shop I had these heads at took an unnessarly long time to do them. But, the gentleman that did them is the best in the area (as far as my dad and I are concerned). The shop has been flooded through out the winter with work. My heads were only a small part of what they have been having to do.

So here they are...

I picked them up for $100 at Monster Mopar last year. If anyone was there that saturday morning you probably saw my girlfriend and I go running past from the swap meet are to the other side of the drag strip carrying them by hand. I had one and she had the other. This convinced me she (my girlfriend) is a keeper, she carried a big block cylinder head an ungodly distance without flinching, complaining, and as a matter of a fact did it better than I did. wHw+

I had the shop cut the seats of the smaller valves out and replace them with hardend seats for the larger valves I had on hand from my 346 heads. New guides, freeze pluges, replacement springs, 3 angle job on my vavles, and resurfaced the both heads for good measure. All of this for $318.

That yields a total investment in to the heads of $418. I am now one step closer to my goal. dstrmtrinstall

I am honestly surprised no one asked what the axles in the first picture belonged to.

8.75 rear axle? You can't have anything less behind a 440 in a car. Next step up is dana 60.

The axles are from...

my 2001 Wj.... bad axle seal. I had to take the axles to work and press on new bearings and seals on to them...

As far as the rear end...

Nothing but an 8-3/4" rear, 742 case, 3.23 Gears with limited slip. The axles are Moser Custom Alloy's. The brakes are the larger drums in the back and rebuilt discs in the front.

Thanks for the interest!

I cant remember what size they are... I am thinking 275/50 R15 on 15" x 8" Wheels...
