You're 18. Let it go. Many kids get fired a time or two while they are still young. Rather than trying to get back at the employer or trying to harp over a 7.00/hr job, learn from it and move on. Know that when you think a company can't make it without you, they will prove you wrong every time. Just move on, now with experience under your hat. Good luck with your next job. Listen to the boss. That is why they are called boss. My boss is 10 years younger than I and the next boss up over him is 20 years younger. Although I've got more age and experience behind me, they still get my respect just as their job title entitles.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to be a smartarse here. You have a problem with listening and some here are trying to help you so you hopefully won't run into this in the future. Listen to someone or you will soon see a downward trend in your job adventures.

On a side note, most underwriters will not take lifted trucks. You have to get specialty insurance to cover the lift if its over 2" for most companies. If you were to total the jeep you would get the KBB back at the most and be ****ed on getting money back for the lift, shocks, tires etc. Especially since the company has the right to salvage after paying a claim and you can't go in and take out all of mods you may have made.

Anybody ever tell you they HATE insurance companies???
Don't even get me stared!!

i do h.r. and risk management. oddly enough, mostly in indiana. indiana is also a right to work state. employment at will. true, i have a hard time believing that this company has a policy against doorless jeeps and they mistated there reasoning behind the termination. and they warned you 3 times and you still didn't get the hint? it sounds like the OP has moved on and for good reason, because he has absolutely no case. indiana is a very employer friendly state. also, in regards to giving out information; the only info that i give out are dates of employment, job title, and if they would be rehireable or not. that being said, i work in a rural area where i know many of the other professionals in the area within my industry and yes we talk about circumstances with eachother while getting employment history and some applicants get blackballed. bottom line is do what your employer asks within reason, it is usually for a good reason. all they want is an honest day's work for an honest day's pay.

I wouldn't let employees take clients out on the street in a vehicle without doors either. First, they are less protected from flying debris. Second, your Cherokee is a unibody design that depends on the doors being there for structural integrity. If you got into an accident and the body caved causing bodily injury to your client, your company would be liable. If an employee of mine didn't put the doors back on after I told him to, I'd fire him too. By you taking clients out in your Cherokee without doors on, you opened up your employer to liability issues and they had the absolute right to can your *** for not putting them back on when they asked you to. I'd also say that for a Wrangler owner even though the Wrangler was designed to run fine without doors... not so the unibody Cherokee where the doors are integral to to the body's structural integrity.

Personally, you have a nice jeep. But not everyone thinks it's practical and I'd almost consider it unprofessional when you're responsible for representing a company. I doubt little miss Barbie would appreciate the wind when being driven to the new appt.
