Ask them to mail you a copy of the company policy specifically requiring doors on a privately owned vehicle, that you would like it so your attorney can review it.

Have fun....

...doorless fun,

that would be pointless, its not the doorless that got him fired but the unablility to follow the orders from his boss. he was putting his 2 weeks anyways so dealing with an attorney is a waste of time

agreed, i was about to stop working there anyways. this place was a load of ****, didnt give me anywhere near the hours i wanted. i had to cover so many peoples other shifts that i was losing money having to drive back and forth to the two jobs. now i can work the 40+ hours a week at the other place.

i read the company handbook thing it said nothing about doors. it said they reimbursed us for mileage and that we had to have a vehicle that was street legal. doorless in indiana is completely legal.

If you didn't want the job anymore, that's all fine and dandy. However, the point is that it's understandable that your employer didn't want you driving clients around doorless (especially if they have received complaints) and they have the right to tell you that you can't. If you don't comply with their requests (whether it's in the handbook or not) they have every right to fire you.

As Jeremy Clarkson said once on Top Gear "Why don't all cars have no doors?"

Absolutely right......if his job didn't require him to drive around clients.

Let's see...no doors on a golf cart but they seem to use those all the time. I understand company policies but that's a little ridiculous.
