got fired from work for having the XJ doorless...

Well, i used to work at an apartment leasing company, i was a leasing agent and had to show apartments. every now and then i would have to drive an appointment around to the apartment to show it. this was across town, 6 blocks at the most, 25 mph speed limit the whole way. last summer i drove around for a couple days they told me to put my doors back on. i complied. but this spring i took them off for a day or two while i was at school. i have another job in which i barback. so i work some late night, 2 to 3 in the morning is normal

well i had the doors off while i was at my barbacking job...worked late and didnt have time to put the doors back on. i went to the apartment place without doors.

i got a txt message from my boss saying to put the doors back on before i came in on saturday. i told her i would try but i couldnt say for sure if i could do it. she called and went on to yell at me about how its company policy to have doors on blah blah blah, i told her that if it was a wrangler that you guys wouldnt have a problem. i came to work without the doors saturday cuz i didnt get off work until 4:30 in the morning.

i walked in the door yesterday and they asked me to turn in my keys. all cuz of the jeep lol. oh well, i was putting in my two weeks on thursday so i could work full time at the barbacking job.

so long story short, i got fired cuz of the jeep lol

That's about the lamest excuse for a firing that I've ever heard. Somehow I doubt that a company has a policy about having doors on your vehicle...

Edit: Just saw that you said that you had to drive clients around. I can see where clients might be uncomfortable with that. My wife doesn't particularly like being doorless...it makes her nervous.

Edit Edit: Nice looking XJ...find a new job that doesn't have a door policy.

If your company cares so much about the car their reps drive then they should buy a company car. I would contact the better buisness beauro (sp*)

should have told them that your vehicle is personal expression... if they didnt like it, they should give you a company vehicle

That's bull, you have a sweet xj, I'd love to ride in that if I was a client, and don't feel bad, my jeep wasn't liked very much at my last job, but that's more because I wouldn't shift until 4000rpms, and you could probably hear me leaving on the other side of the course

Usually apartment companies furnish golf carts or something to drive potential clients around in.

Seems like they wanted to get rid of you for other reasons, but they blamed it on the jeep.

Nice Jeep, But I can see where they're coming from. Some customers definitely might me uncomfortable riding around in that beast with no doors.

I understand...your XJ is creating a negative image. They asked you, you didn't comply. End of story

May I suggest you get a job working for UPS? I am pretty sure most of their vehicles are doorless.
