I also like Costco for tires, but it can be a pain to get them to install larger than OEM tires on your rig. __________________ "'Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky? Registered User | Yokohama Geolander A/Ts is what I run. Great tread life, quiet, and good in the rain for a fairly aggressive AT. I get mine from tirerack.com. __________________ 05 WK - mopar gas tank skid, mopar rock rails, 245/65/17 Yokohama Geolander A/Ts. No lift yet :( 99 Cherokee Sport, 2" BB, skids and hooks. 31" BFGs. I bought 4 maxxis bighorns from eBay, and America's Tire (www.americastire.com) mounted and balanced. Not lifetime, but they did it. __________________ - Brian 2006 MINI Cooper S | 1971 Dodge Demon XJ Writeups: | DOORLESS IN A 97+ | D44 SWAP | REBUILDING A CV DRIVESHAFT | HOME-BREWED CENTER CONSOLE Quote:

Taste the rainbow Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Austin, Tx Posts: 380 | When I buy tires I get a quote at NTB, have discount tire beat it by whatever amount, then go to another place that price matches and get that price beat. You can usually save a good amount of money that way. __________________ Red Jeep Club # 383 , _____ /l ,[___], l--L --[]lllll[]- ()_) ()_)-o-)_) |

I guess I am needing to replace my wife's tires. Her's are 235/65/17. I was hoping to go up to a 245/65/17 if I can. I want something quite / beefy looking, so there is a balance between the two issue that I am needing work on. I just don't want mini-van tires, but I do want her ride to be quite. Oh, I don't know **** about tires also. __________________ Jeepless for now. . .

Balancing is important, but you should also get an alignment when buying new tires -- especially since you have had uneven wear on your last set. __________________ 1995 5.2 ZJ Sold... but still in the family Stocker

Registered User Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Westminster, CO Posts: 689 | The last time I bought tires was at Discount Tire. They only stocked 2 tires in the size I needed so I told them to put the less expensive ones on and my wife and I went to lunch. When we came back from lunch they said "We were out of the tire you wanted so we put the more expensive ones on for the same price. Have a nice day." I will be buying more tires from them in the future. __________________ ____________________________________ Shaun Buy Shag A Lifetime Membership Quote:

I believe they are the same as America's Tire on the West coast (America's is affiliated with Discount Tire Direct, a national chain). If so, they should be a good bet. Most major tire shops also do alignments. One good thing about getting tires and alignment at the same place is that if there's any problem with wear, balance, pulling, or anything else, there is no finger-pointing. They will take care of it for you. __________________ 1995 5.2 ZJ Sold... but still in the family Stocker |
