And sadly mine is still stock But as soon as I get my practice bike worked over and sold you can expect it to be going up up up, well i say up she will only be on 33's so i can save SOME gas going back and fourth to the eastern shore on the weekends. But i really really like the look of yours budice wish i could afford to be rolling on those 35's. Also looking for the cheapest but the most durable route to getting those 33's to fit, I was thinking a 4in kit and of course i know i would need a SYE and CV shaft but is there anything i should look for when getting the kits? I know I NEED all the steering components but what about suspension can i get away with using most of the stock stuff? Also Bmel I noticed the same thing when I came on here, I did tons of searches but nothing appeared! Would be sweet if we all started up a club on JeepSpace just to keep up with what us GE owners are doing and all kinda like what the Willy's guys are doing. This could be kinda hard since they were only made for the last year the TJ was in production.

Golden Eagle Lift
Great posts on the Golden Eagle.
I picked mine up as a salvage this past fall, and have fixed it up quite a bit (it had just a little tub damage by the right door). I too wanted 33" tires with a kit, so I checked around. Here's what I ended up getting: 33" BFG TA KO's on stock rims 3.5" Rubicon Express Superflex kit Rampage Express Recovery bumpers, front and rear (with lights in bumper) PIAA lights for the front Halogens for the headlights Warn winch Advanced Adapters SYE kit (this kit is sweet - made the ride smooth) Tom Woods drive shaft 7" fender flares I installed everything except the SYE and drive shaft. The lift kit has some great on-line instructions with photos at every step. Made it easy. Here's the finished product. f16jack ![]() |

f16jack if i could have that Jeep in white it would be perfect! I like the look of 33's but as my father has tought me over the years get bigger than what you need, that way if you ever have to put it to use then you can. BUT, as a struggling highschool student I'm afraid 33's will be it, and with gas prices rising steadly it seems even harder for me to even think about lifting it at all seeing as it is my daily driver. Even though my stupidity is still pushing me harder than my smarts and hopefully I will be coming upon a large sum of money soon, or at least enough to buy me that lift and tires, and maybe with only having a 3.5" lift I wouldn't have to buy the SYE and CV shaft right away. How bad were your driveline vibes? (Sorry about my longwinded post but i figured I would explain my situation a little deeper for a bit more advice)

Lift suggestions
GoldenEagele06
-Some of the lift kits are progressive - you can add more elements as you go along. I ended up going with the Rubicon Express based on a bunch of research and trying to figure out what I would really use. This jeep is a daily driver that I occasionally will take on some rough mountain roads. I'll even take it down to Moab for some of the trail. But I don't need the really aggressive lifts and tires. -A great install site for the Rubicon Express superflex is http://www.4x4xplor.com/RE-SuperFlex.html -You can buy the 3.5" lift (which will fit the 33" tires just fine), and this kit reuses some of the factory control arms. I elected to replace all the arms, so I bought the 4.5" kit and had them substitute in the 3.5" springs - everything else remains the same. I also added in the adjustable track bar. -As far as the SYE/shaft - After the lift install I drove around the block and the alignment (due to the lift) was well off. In addition, there was a great amount of vibration. With the factory drive shaft the input/output are supposed to be parallel, but I didn't know that and instead tipped the rear axle up so that it pointed along the axis of the drive shaft, like you would with a CV driveshaft. Original ...XXXXX ..............X ...................X ........................X ..............................XXXXXX (rear axle horizontal down here) New ...XXXXX ..............X ...................X .......................X ..........................X .............................X (rear axle angled up down here) Once I put the pinon angle so that the rear axle pointed up the drive shaft the vibrations were reduced significantly. They were still present, expecially in 1st when just starting out. When I had the Advanced Adapters SYE and Tom Woods drive shaft put on the jeep was like a new rig - smooth as silk with great power. Again, if you buy the 3.5" RE superflex, you'll only need to buy 4.5" replacement springs and the upper control arms later if you want the additional inch. It gets you in for less money initially, and then expand later. Now I'm going to try to get a 33" tire cover silkscreened with the golden Eagle Logo that you see in my post. It shouldn't be too hard. f16jack |

That sounds like a good plan to me, I'm guessing you stuck with the RE shocks? And I put those same tires on my dad's truck a few years ago for fathers day, he couldn't be any happier with them. He says they don't give that anoying hum going down the road but when he is leaving work and has to go through that stupid tire wash they have at construction sites he never gets stuck anymore!

I dont believe in the 'new' golden eagles, IMO if it isnt a CJ it just isnt a golden eagle. Its like in the early 90's when they discontinued the Grand Wagoneer then made a Grand Cherokee to look like one.
Whatever makes you happy I guess. |

RE Kit
I did stick with the RE shocks. They seem to work just fine.
The tires are great too - BFG TA KO 33x12.5x15 on the original rims. f16jack |

Good stuff. Oh I meant to tell you I have the stock tire cover, it has a bit of a different design and I could take a picture so you could get it silkscreened on your new cover if you need it.

I have the stock cover also, and I'm refining the logo so that the colors/shape will look the same on a new tire cover. Once I have it done I'll email the finished product to whomever wants it.

Colors of Golden Eagle models
I thought that the only colors were black and white, but my brother found one in Katy, TX that is midnight blue with black interior. Did someone change out the seats and all or was this another option on the golden eagle edition.
Here is the link to the autotrader web page, price is to high but its a nice color. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/img_popup.jsp?car_id=244838959&photoIndex=0
