Ghosts, etc...

I've just been reading this vwvortex.com thread (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1424744) about ghosts and stuff, and just wondered if anyone here had any crazy stories. I guess I'll start it (if another hasn't been made already):

I was talking on the phone to my girlfriend, Donna, in the basement of my house. My basement basically spans the width of my house, plus a few other rooms that branch off, so it's fairly large (i.e., 2500+ sqft) and a few of the rooms are kinda creepy (i.e., the unfinished bar, the storage room, the utility room, the laundry room, etc.). Well I was at the other end of the basement from the stairwell when my dad said that it was time for dinner. I turned to the stairwell, and I saw a kid in a blue shirt staring at me through the railings! I turned away really quickly because it made me freak a little bit, and then looked back. He was gone. I told Donna that I was going to dinner and I'd call her back, not thinking TOO much about what I'd just seen. I walked towards the stairwell and when I got there, turned around to see the area of the basement that I'd just been standing in and saw the same boy, and a girl too! That freaked the heck outta me so I bolted up the stairs!

My dad is a stickler for turning the lights out, so when I got to the top of the stairs he said that I had left a few lights on. I turned around to go back downstairs to hit the lights, but when I did there was the kid in the blue shirt crawling up the stairs! I flipped out and nearly knocked my dad down while bolting for the kitchen!

Since then, I haven't seen "the kids" in the basement, but no one has EVER liked sleeping in the basement (I've lived there since I was born... we'd have to split up on sleepovers because no one would sleep in the basement). To this day, I still run through there if I need to grab clothes from the laundry room...

I guess it's kinda lame if you weren't there, but it was the most real thing I've ever experienced. I've got a few more, but does anyone else have anything?

not a car ghost story, but while in college i had friends that lived in what was called the murder house. Basicall two neighbors were fighting about the ones property falling apart. so sdthe guy tunneled through his basement wall and chopped up his neighbor. the house was freaky. you could actually see where the wall in the basement was patched up and you always had weird things happening like lights being turned on or cabinets slamming.

check out the story it was pretty brutal

MY GF's lives with her mom still and her stepdad's ex wife like killed herself in the house or something. So they have one of those remote controlled ceiling fans in the living room. Well that thing has a mind of its own. It like to turn the fan on and off randomly and the light will just come on. Its pretty annoying when we are trying to sleep and at 3 am the fan shuts off and it gets really hot and then we wake up with the light in our face.

Then one night me and her came in late and we were both in the back room and we both heard someone hollar for her. We look and everyone is dead asleep we woke everyone up and no one cliams they didnt say anything. So the ghost apparently like to yell her name.

I dont really buy it so I dont care.

ive had a few odd things happen in my dads house. such as tapping in the walls and doors closing on their own. pretty creepy ****. the neighborhood is built on an Indian (native american) settlement. wouldnt surprise me if they are wondering around. however after my mom passed away in the house there havent been any creepy things going on

My keys fell off the coffee table one time while I was in the kitchen. It was strange but they were on the edge, so I figure gravity finally won.

Ours does that too. That's nothing suspicious. It's radio signals getting it to do that. Common interference. Can come from police radios and other such things, definitely not a phenomenon.

I'd tried telling them that but they flip out and claim it's a ghost. So after fighting it for awhile I just went with it.

Ive never had any personal experiences but my parents have both had them. Before my family moved about 5 years ago we lived in old farm house built in the 1880's. At the time of the first experience, i was only about 3 or 4 months old and my parents were in the middle of a renovation project. My dad says he woke up during the middle of the night from a dead sleep and had a feeling like some one was in the house. So he grabbed his .357 from his night stand and took our lab and did a walkthrough. Everything seemed in order but our dog would not go into our basement. My dad tried shoving him down but it still wouldnt budge. So my dad picked him up and carried him down and soon as he put him down he ran back up the stairs. As my dad was walking back up the stairs to the second story he looked up and saw the figure of an elderly man standing at the top of the stairs looking at him. My dad said he was close enough where he tried to grab the figure thinking it was an intruder but it simply vanished. A few weeks later my dad had a similiar experience. Again he woke up from dead sleep and felt a presence and had the hairs on his neck standing up. He rolled over and looked throught the doorway and saw the same figure staring at him from the hallway. My dad quickly reached for his .357 and drew on the figure but it was gone once again. My dad never told my mom about what he had been seeing until my mom had an experience for herself. My dad was gone on a business trip and she was home alone with me. She woke up in the middle of the night and felt something heavy on the bed. She looked up and saw a figure of the same description sitting on the bed looking at her. She quickly turned on the light and there was nothing in sight. She called my dad panic stricken and told her what she had saw. After my dad returned he told her what he had seen. We never did figure out what the figure was. It only showed up when work was being done to the house. My family has a theory that it could be the original owner of the house not pleased with his being being worked on. We also think that the sightings have something to do with the basement. It was an old unfinished basement with low ceilings with an old room off to one side. I was had an uncomfortable feeling, as if I was being watched. We've had things knocked off shelves and one time my brother and I were down there getting something and we were storing an air hockey table down there that flipped over on its side. Dogs are said to have a 6th sense when it comes to this stuff and our dog might have seen something we wouldnt have been able to. That might explain why he would never go down there.
